Museum educational programme from Year 1

The museum educational guided tours are intended for pupils from all levels of education and types of school. On offer are guided tours through the collection or the current exhibition, and practical artistic work in our spacious workrooms. Age-appropriate themes are chosen and oriented to match individual abilities. Each session lasts 90 minutes.

The “Erlebniswelt Museum”, the Museum of Discovery, offers a wealth of possibilities for stimulating the imagination and creativity. To begin with, a tour of the museum allows participants to see original works of art. For this, no prior knowledge is required. Rather, the tour seeks to stimulate individual perception and first impressions on the part of the children and young people. This is about animating their curiosity and interest, and encouraging them to voice their own points of view and sharpen their senses. In the process, perception, language skills and judgement are automatically trained when pupils and students develop their own ideas and narratives in their engagement with art.

Back in the workroom after the museum tour, we will return to the chosen theme and the young participants will be able to create an artwork of their own to take away. Here, they will be introduced to the large array of materials used in the fine arts and can widen their haptic skills.

Themes of our museum educational guided tours include:
- Light, sound, movement – Kinetics
- Colours, forms, planes – Concrete Art
- The view outdoors – landscape and nature
- Gestures, poses, facial expressions – portraits and sculpture
- Abstraction – Informel painting
- From Impressionism to Expressionism
- Materials, surfaces, structures – objects and sculpture
- Thematic guided tours through current exhibitions
